Bottom Line with Joe Torre. He screwed up, The Yanks screwed up. Torre was so arrogant to walk away from a potential $16MM in dough and the Steinbrenner's were so arrogant to think he wasn't the man for the job. The Steinbrenner's win this battle. Joe is an employee and will always be an employee. A rich peasant. The Steinbrenner's own the land and will always rule the roost. Joe was a lovable loser before 1995. Now he is a wealthy peasant who will limp into the Hallowed Hall with the likes of softees like Piazza. The only thing that stinks a bit is that the odor from the Steinbrenner estate is a concern to me. It reeks of an unhappy work environment. I'm sensing a drought for the next 5-7 years, but that is okay. It's their dough not mine. We need to make examples of dillusional people like Torre who is basically a hump.
We still need to get rid of Jeter, steal Pappelbon, give Posada the mother load and resign Fred Stanley (just kidding on that one).
The next manager should be Tony Pena ( Girardi is a douche and Mattingly is basically uneducated and illiterate). I would also take a chance on Joel Skinner. Anyone who could fuck up a situation like he did with Loften rounding third the other night (not sending him home) can only get better, learn and focus.
This chapter ends for now.
